Banana Dates Smoothie

If you're looking for an energy boosting breakfast, a power packed suhour or even a post-workout smoothie you should try this smoothie! It's ready in minutes, requires a handful of ingredients and is packed with nutrients!

Growing up, dates were a common and very popular ingredient. Using dates in a drink or smoothie was very common. I always love using Palestinian Medjool dates.

Banana Date Smoothie

Ingredients

5-6 medjool dates, pitted

1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1 frozen ripe banana

1 tablespoon creamy almond butter

1 tsp cocoa powder

1 tsp honey

optional: 1/4 cup ice cubes

Directions

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add more almond milk.

Recipe Notes:

- You can use a ripe banana off your countertop. I prefer using a frozen banana to avoid watering down the smoothie with ice.

- Any nut butter or nut butter milk can be used for this recipe. Cashew butter would be great with this recipe or some crunchy peanut butter

- You can also add your favourite protein powder to this smoothie for a protein packed drink.
